Are you at risk of being replaced by artificial intelligence?hotly discussed information
With the rise of AIGC tools such as ChatGPT, people are worried that millions of jobs may be replaced by this technology, and more and more industry research is trying to figure out which jobs may be hit hardest. In this regard, the Unit for Future Skills of the British Ministry of Education also published a new research report this week.
The report was promoted as one of the first quantitative research attempts on the impact of artificial intelligence on the British job market. The researchers used the method developed by American scholars to determine the occupations, industries and fields most affected by artificial intelligence, especially the big language model.
The analysis of the report found that the financial and insurance industries seem to be most vulnerable to the wave of artificial intelligence, which also means that those ambitious professionals in the City of London are on the cusp ...
Among them, management consultant is the most affected profession by all artificial intelligence applications, followed by financial managers, accountants, psychologists, purchasing managers and economists.
In terms of more subdivided big language models (such as the software behind ChatGPT of OpenAI), the study found that call center staff ranked first in the occupations most susceptible to big language models. Other occupations that are greatly affected include university lecturers, credit administrators, public relations experts and clergy.
Athletes, roofers and construction workers are the least likely to be affected by artificial intelligence application technology.
This official statistic divides British occupations into 365 categories. The researchers pointed out that they provided an "artificial intelligence occupational exposure" score for each profession according to the ability of artificial intelligence to copy the skills needed for the post and the extent to which 10 common artificial intelligence applications can help complete the corresponding work, including image recognition, language modeling, translation and speech recognition.
These scores range from -2 to 1.5. The higher the score, the more likely it is that the profession will be affected.
Other conclusions of the report
These reports also found that workers in London and southeast England are the most vulnerable because jobs in London are concentrated in professional fields; Workers in the northeast are the least likely to be affected.
In addition, people with higher education are more susceptible than those with lower education.
The analysis report does not try to distinguish which jobs may be replaced by artificial intelligence and which positions the role of employees has been enhanced by new technologies. The British Ministry of Education said that it is generally believed that 10% to 30% of existing jobs will be affected by artificial intelligence, but new jobs will also be created to take advantage of this emerging technology.
Earlier this year, a study by American researchers found that artificial intelligence tools such as ChatGPT have taken away freelance jobs for copywriters and graphic designers.
The British Ministry of Education said, "This report shows how the education system and employers need to adjust to ensure that the workforce has the necessary skills to benefit from this emerging technology."
